Crystal Essence Roll-On Deodorant is one of my favorite finds of this year. Up until this point I'd only tried a couple of natural deodorants but they left me with a definite negative outlook on the subject. After hearing really positive reviews of Crystal Essence I decided to give it a shot and was really surprised. This stuff works better, yes, better than the big names you see at the drug store. So far I've tested it through stressful days at work and parties and it's never failed. Summer will be the ultimate test but it really wouldn't surprise if it continued to outshine the competition. I purchased mine in Lavender and White Tea and the scent is not overpowering at all. When I think of some of the strong chemically scents other brands sell, this is another big plus.
Seriously guys, this is such a win-win which is why I am so excited! First off it's the perfect balance I'm looking for: cruelty-free, chemical free, and actually really affordable. I purchased mine on Amazon for $4.69 (including shipping) which is fairly comparable to other regularly priced products. Vitacost.com currently has it for $3.89 but I've seen it on their site cheaper when it's on sale. I believe you can also get it at Whole Foods or Earth Fare but I have not priced it yet. I think the chemical free part is the best part. I don't know that it's been proven that mainstream deodorants can cause cancer, but it sure doesn't hurt to use something that doesn't have any risk. It's a nice perk!
Another good product I'd like to mention is Shikai shower gel. One of my favorite scents is sandalwood and these days it's really hard to find anything in this scent. I happened across Shikai sandalwood shower gel at Whole Foods and was really pleased with their product. It's a little on the pricey side but no worse than shower gel at Bath & Body Works. The scent is really subtle which is nice. It contains oatmeal and aloe vera and is very moisturizing. I've actually already repurchased this item. I do need to warn that I did not find the lotion in sandalwood to be as subtle. It's really strong in comparison and not something I would recommend for those who are sensitive to heavy smells.
